Feeling Thrifty? Check Out These Top Picks for Thrifting in the 'Shwa!

Thrifting: When one visits several different thrift shops, second-hand shops, and vintage clothing stores in the hopes of buying several items of cheap and unusual clothing and other items. One usually does this with friends.

Over the past few years, thrifting has had a tremendous rise in popularity as a result of a distaste for fast fashion, the environmental benefit of a reduced carbon footprint, and simply because it allows the shopper to showcase their unique fashion sense. While the previously listed reasons are true for me, I just love treasure hunting! Making an afternoon of looking through racks of clothing that have had a previous life, and finding that one perfect classic t-shirt or the most perfectly fitting pair of worn jeans gives me a thrill. I once even found a vintage Armani dress at Value Village!

As a self-proclaimed Oshawa thrifting expert, I have done my best to catalog some of the best treasure-hunting locations in the city to share with you!
